Staff & Volunteers Recognized at Annual Meeting

Volunteering Does Make a Difference 

Each year, during out Annual Volunteer and Staff Reception the Coalition for the Homeless honors volunteers and staff for outstanding service through a broad range of activities and programs. Also, Length of Service Awards were presented for 5, 10, 15 and 20+ years. The reception was held again at St. Francis Hall, Washington, D.C. on October 13, 2015. The Coalition thanks all volunteers and staff for lending their skills, talents, and service to others. 


The Beta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. for supporting the men at Emery Work Bed Program “Desserts for the Homeless” 

EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR 

Beverly Matthews-Williams, Case Manager at Blair House Transitional Program was named Employee of the Year. The award, our highest honor, recognizes individuals for exceptional job performance, outstanding dedication and commitment to the mission of the Coalition. Beverly has been with the Coalition for seven years and takes pride in her work. She is a team player. She proudly stepped up to the role of Lead Case Manager while her supervisor was out of the office for an extended period. Beverly is described as a person who has a positive attitude, takes initiative, and is dependable. She has good problem solving skills and gets along well with staff and clients. When she is asked to do something, her favorite words are “I’ll do it.” We appreciate the high level of professionalism, integrity, and the range of expertise Ms. Williams brings to her work. Congratulations Ms. Williams for a job well done!
