Emergency Shelter Services

Emery Low Barrier Shelter

If you’re 18 or older. male or identify as male, and currently facing homelessness in the District of Columbia, Emery provides emergency shelter with supportive social services. The shelter provides 130 beds on a nightly basis, as well as access to case management services, showers, and food. Anyone eligible can take advantage of these services. Intake services start at 7:00 pm nightly.

KBEC Group, Incorporated

The Coalition for the Homeless manages the building and collaborates with the KBEC Group. 

Living Life Alternative’s Program

Living Life Alternative’s Program is the District of Columbia’s first LGBTQ+ Low Barrier shelter serving homeless individuals of the LGBTQ+ community. The shelter provides case managementhttps://dccfh.org/programs/emergency-shelter-services/emery-low-barrier-shelter/ services, job readiness training, life skills classes, psychosocial support, and health and wellness support.
