About Us
Our Vision: Rebuilding lives through the elimination of homelessness.
Our values support our mission, vision, and core purpose of ending homelessness in the District of Columbia.
The Coalition for the Homeless (CFH) was established in 1979 by the Inter-Faith Conference of Metropolitan Washington, an inter-religious organization, through its Hunger Task Force. CFH consisted of direct service providers to the homeless community to advocate and work on issues of homelessness and poverty.
On August 18, 1981, CFH was officially incorporated as a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization in the District of Columbia. Currently, the agency focuses on housing and providing direct services to those in need.
